I read the pricing pages, Terms, and Privacy Policies of AI companion apps. Then I go through each checkout up to the payment page and write down the total it shows. Write to me about any mistake, and I will fix it.
Why this site exists
This site answers five questions that come up before you pay for an AI companion app:
- what’s really free,
- what the checkout will charge,
- what shows up on your bank statement,
- how to cancel,
- and what happens to your chats.
The answers are spread across each app’s pricing page, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, help center, and the checkout itself. This site puts them on one page per app, with the date I checked each one.
Who this site is for
This site is for adults in the US who are deciding whether to pay for an AI companion app. It’s also for those who already pay and want to cancel, ask for a refund, or delete their data. If you’re under 18, this site isn’t for you, and neither are the apps it covers.
How we check apps
I check every app the same way. I read its pricing page, Terms, Privacy Policy, and help center, open a free test account, and go through the checkout up to the payment page. The steps, the six scoring axes, and their weights are on how we check and score AI companion apps.
The answers to the same seven fine-print questions also go into one table, the AI Companion Fine Print Index, so you can compare apps line by line.
What every review shows
- A score out of 10 with its label, and the date of the check under the headline.
- A short answer at the top with the main price and the date I saw it.
- A “What we checked” box that lists the account type, the pages I read, and what I couldn’t check.
- The same seven fine-print answers, from the real price to the content rules.
- Screenshots with the date they were taken. None of them shows explicit content.
- What users report on Reddit and Trustpilot, with how many reviews I read and when.
The site covers three kinds of apps: AI girlfriend apps, uncensored AI chat, and AI image generators. Each app gets the same steps and the same six weights, whichever section it sits in.
How this site makes money
The site’s only income is meant to come from affiliate commissions. If you subscribe to an app through a link on this site, the app may pay us a share of what you pay, at no extra cost to you. There are no ads, no sponsored posts, and no paid reviews.
As of 10/15/2026, we haven’t applied to any affiliate program, so no link on this site earns a commission yet.
A commission doesn’t change a score or the order of a ranking. The details are on how this site makes money.
What this site doesn’t do
- It doesn’t show explicit images. Screenshots are safe for work, and anything explicit in them is blurred or cropped out.
- It doesn’t review apps made to alter photos of real people.
- It doesn’t give advice on getting around age checks, message limits, paywalls, or region locks.
- It doesn’t make health claims about AI companions, in either direction.
- It doesn’t use ad trackers.
Who writes here
Ellis Harrow is the editorial name under which every page on this site is checked and written. It’s a pen name, used consistently and without a photo, so that the work stays separate from the editor’s other life. Nothing on this site claims experience, a job, or a degree that the editor doesn’t have. Each review carries the date of the check and a “What we checked” box that lists what was checked and what wasn’t.
Where to start
If you’re comparing apps for the first time, begin with every AI girlfriend app we scored. Each row there links to a full review, and the order is the order of the scores.
To compare a single question across all apps at once, such as which name shows up on a bank statement or where the cancel button sits, open the Fine Print Index table.
Some apps aren’t ranked anywhere, on purpose. Their names, and the clause or feature that kept each one out, are on the apps we chose not to rank.
