Nectar AI review: what it is, how it works and whether it’s worth it
Reviewed · Updated
Quick answer
Nectar AI is worth a look for chat with voice replies: it scored 7.2/10, and its free tier gave me 15 replies on 10/16/2026. The good part ends at photos, which need a paid plan. It suits chat first. Premium costs $9.99/mo, though the checkout didn’t name the renewal price.

How we scored Nectar AI
Nectar AI scored 7.2/10, led by its memory result. I used a free account opened on 10/16/2026 and Nectar AI’s own pages. The method behind Nectar AI’s score is the same for every app.
- Chat quality and memory: 9.5/10. The memory script got an Excellent grade.
- Price and free plan: 6.3/10. Sign-up needed no card, but the checkout didn’t name the renewal price.
- Characters and customization: 6.0/10. A library of characters, reply regeneration, and message editing all worked on the free tier.
- Images, voice and video: 4.0/10. Voice replies were free, while photos and video sat behind paid plans.
- Billing, privacy and cancellation: 8.8/10. The statement name and account deletion are clear, but the Privacy Policy is silent on training and retention.
- Age checks and content rules: 5.0/10. The rules are published, but the age check is one click and the chat has no AI label.
| Axis | Weight | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Chat quality and memory | 30% | 9.5 |
| Price and free plan | 20% | 6.3 |
| Characters and customization | 15% | 6.0 |

Nectar AI doesn’t name the AI models behind its characters on the pages I read.
What is Nectar AI and who makes it
Nectar AI is a browser-based AI companion site: you chat with characters, get voice replies, and pay for plans that add photos, video, and more messages. The chat window also offers video and audio calls and a “Media Generation” menu.
The company is Nectar AI, LLC, per its Privacy Policy, with an address in Dover, Delaware, in its Terms. The Terms also name a UK office, Lick Labs Ltd, in London, and an older domain, trynectar.ai.
Sign-up has no password: you enter an email and type a one-time code from Nectar AI’s email. Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord, and crypto wallets are the other ways in.
Chat quality and memory: our test
Nectar AI got an Excellent grade: at message 5, the character answered “Your name is Jordan and you reside in Denver” and stayed in character. The script gives a name and a city in the first two messages and asks for both at message 5, the same on every app.
Replies ran three to six sentences, with actions in italics, and some took up to three minutes to arrive. Under each reply you can regenerate it or rate it, and you can edit your own message.
At message 15, Nectar AI’s own filter blocked the chat with an “Unsafe Message Detected” window. The 18+ setting was off, and the character had steered the storyline itself, so the filter caught the bot, not me.
Nectar AI pricing at a glance
Nectar AI’s cheapest plan is Premium at $59.99/yr, billed once ($4.99/mo), in my test account on 10/16/2026. Month to month, Premium costs $9.99/mo. My session ran from Tanzania, and the pricing page’s code showed the same amounts to a US network on 10/15/2026.
| Plan | Per month | Billed | Renews at | Tokens / credits | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium, yearly | $4.99/mo | $59.99 every 12 months | not stated | 100 generations a day | 6,000 messages a month, 600 photo messages |
| Pro, yearly | $9.99/mo | $119.99 every 12 months | not stated | Unlimited generations | 9,000 messages a month, HD generations |
| Ultimate, yearly | $14.99/mo | $179.99 every 12 months | not stated | 2,500 credits a month | Unlimited messaging and HD generations |
| Premium, month to month | $9.99/mo | $9.99 every month | not stated | 100 generations a day | Same as Premium yearly |
Prices checked 10/16/2026 on Nectar AI’s site. Plus tax where applicable.
Pro costs $19.99/mo and Ultimate $34.99/mo when paid month to month. Credits, a separate currency for roleplay upgrades, sell from $4.99 for 2,500.
Free plan
Nectar AI’s free tier is permanent, and it gave me 15 replies to 16 messages on 10/16/2026. The 17th message brought a “Message Limit Reached” window with the plans. The window didn’t say when the limit resets.
Sign-up asked for an email and a code, with no card, password, or captcha. Afterward, the profile settings showed “Nectar Free” with a messaging quota of 0.
Characters and customization
On the free tier, you start a chat from a library of ready-made characters, and each card describes the setting. Before the first reply, a tips window explains that actions go in asterisks and that you can regenerate a reply you don’t like.
The plan cards list from 45 to 350 extra customization options, depending on the plan. Making photos of your own characters is an Ultimate feature.
Images, voice and video
Voice is the free extra: the character sent voice replies, from 10 seconds to about a minute, on my free account. My SFW request for a portrait in a café ran into the message limit, so I got no free photo. The photo tool in the menu is marked for Ultimate.
Premium lists 600 photo messages and 100 generations a day, while higher plans list unlimited generations. Apps that include photos on cheaper plans: AI girlfriend apps that send pictures.
Age, payments, privacy and cancellation
I check the same seven things on every AI companion site, and the results go into the AI Companion Fine Print Index.
What you actually pay (checked 10/16/2026)
In my test account on 10/16/2026, Premium cost $9.99/mo or $59.99/yr ($4.99/mo), Pro $19.99/mo or $119.99/yr, and Ultimate $34.99/mo or $179.99/yr. The checkout showed $9.99 with no tax line and didn’t name the renewal price. The session ran from Tanzania, so these USD prices aren’t confirmed for the US.
The monthly Premium checkout came to $9.99, shown against a crossed-out $19.99, with no tax line. The page said “Monthly subscription” but didn’t name the second month’s price. I opened that checkout from Tanzania on 10/16/2026, and a US checkout wasn’t seen.
The yearly checkout showed $59.99 as 75% off a crossed-out $240, while the pricing card called the same plan 50% off.
What’s free, and where the paywall starts
Sign-up took an email code, with no password and no card. My free account sent 16 messages and got 15 replies on 10/16/2026, and the 17th hit “Message Limit Reached.” Voice replies came free, but a photo request didn’t.
How you pay and what shows on your bank statement
My checkout on 10/16/2026 took Visa or Mastercard, plus crypto through NowPayments on the yearly plan only. It says the charge shows as “Nectar Vixen AI” on your bank statement. I saw no PayPal.
The checkout took Visa and Mastercard, with crypto through NowPayments on the yearly plan only. It also asked for a name and a billing address.
How to cancel (and whether you get a refund)
Cancel in your account under Profile > Settings > Subscription and Credits. The Terms also accept email or Discord. Plans renew automatically. Purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires, and other requests are at Nectar’s discretion.
My free account had no subscription, so no cancel button appeared on 10/16/2026. Nectar AI’s Terms also accept cancellation by email or Discord.
How it checks your age
From a Tanzanian network on 10/16/2026, one click on “I’m over 18” opened the site, with no date of birth, card, or ID. A new account starts with NSFW on, and you can turn it off in Preferences. The FAQ says NSFW is for verified users 18+ without naming a method.
One click on “I’m over 18” opened the site, and a new account started with the 18+ setting on. You can turn it off under Preferences, which I did for the test.
What happens to your chats and photos
Nectar’s Privacy Policy doesn’t say whether chats train models or how long data is kept. The FAQ says chats aren’t used to train external AI models. In my test account, Settings had a Delete Account button with an “irreversible” warning (10/16/2026).
“Delete Account” sits under Settings, and the confirmation window warns that the deletion is irreversible (10/16/2026). On 10/14/2026, the pages I read still said to email support or use Discord, so the button is newer than those pages.
The Privacy Policy (01/28/2026) doesn’t say whether chats train models or how long data is kept. More on this across apps: what AI girlfriend apps keep and delete.
What it allows and what it bans
Bans minors (stated, implied, or suggested by appearance), non-consent, incest, bestiality, extreme violence, and real people. Its own filter stopped my safe-mode test chat at message 15 when the character’s storyline drifted. I saw no “you’re talking to an AI” label in the chat (10/16/2026).
Nectar AI’s rules ban content involving minors, non-consent, and real people, among other things. Its filter stopped my test chat at message 15, and I saw no label in the chat saying the character is AI (10/16/2026).
How Nectar AI compares in the AI Companion Fine Print Index →
Is Nectar AI safe and legit?
Nectar AI is run by a registered US company and names its statement charge before you pay. Two facts deserve attention: the Privacy Policy is silent on training and retention, and a new account starts with 18+ content on.
- Company: Nectar AI, LLC, Dover, Delaware, with a UK office named in the Terms.
- Statement name: “Nectar Vixen AI” (checkout, 10/16/2026).
- Age check: one click on 10/16/2026, with no ID.
- Data: account deletion in Settings, no stated training or retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
What other users say
I found no Trustpilot reviews: the Nectar AI profile had been removed on 10/15/2026, and other spellings had no profile. Reddit blocked my session network, so I read three r/NectarAI threads in archived copies, posted between 01/16/2024 and 02/20/2025.
- One user described chats that froze and logouts, with replies from the company coming through Discord (01/16/2024).
- Another praised image consistency but found it hard to get in-chat pictures that matched the scene (04/23/2024).
I didn’t verify each case.
Is there a Nectar AI app?
There was no Nectar AI app from the company in the App Store or Google Play on 10/14/2026, and it runs in the phone’s browser. Store apps with “Nectar” in the name come from other developers, so this site doesn’t link to them.

Who it’s for (and who should skip it)
Nectar AI fits these cases:
- You want a character that remembers what you said a few messages back.
- You want voice replies without paying.
- You want to know the statement name in advance: “Nectar Vixen AI.”
Skip it, or plan around it, in these cases:
- You want photos on a free plan.
- You want the renewal price spelled out at checkout.
- You want a privacy policy that says whether chats train models.
If you sign up, turn off the 18+ setting under Preferences first if you don’t want it, because new accounts start with it on.
What I’d change
- Name the renewal price on the checkout page.
- Use one discount figure on the pricing card and at checkout.
- State in the Privacy Policy whether chats train models and how long they’re kept.
- Start new accounts with the 18+ setting off.
Nectar AI alternatives
GirlfriendGPT and Secrets AI set their free limits differently, by my run and Secrets AI’s own pages.
GirlfriendGPT scored 8.5/10, and its 30 free coins paid for two safe-mode images on 10/17/2026. The details: GirlfriendGPT review.
Secrets AI lists 20 free messages a day, reset daily, but no images or video on the free tier. More in the Secrets AI review.
FAQ
Is Nectar AI safe?
Nectar AI publishes its company and rules, and my test account had a “Delete Account” button with an irreversible warning on 10/16/2026. Its Privacy Policy, though, doesn’t say whether chats train models or how long data is kept. The FAQ says chats don’t train external AI models. Age confirmation was one click.
Is Nectar AI legit or a scam?
Nectar AI is run by Nectar AI, LLC, with an address in Dover, Delaware, and a UK office named in its Terms. The checkout names the charge in advance as “Nectar Vixen AI.” On Trustpilot, the Nectar AI profile had been removed on 10/15/2026. Apps with the same name in the stores come from other developers.
Is Nectar AI free?
Yes, Nectar AI has a permanent free tier. My free account got 15 replies to 16 messages on 10/16/2026, and the 17th brought a “Message Limit Reached” window. Voice replies came free, but a photo didn’t. Sign-up took a code sent by email, with no password and no card.
How much does Nectar AI cost?
Premium costs $9.99/mo, or $59.99/yr, billed once ($4.99/mo), in my test account on 10/16/2026. Pro costs $19.99/mo or $119.99/yr, and Ultimate $34.99/mo or $179.99/yr. The checkout charged $9.99 with no tax line and didn’t name the renewal price. My session ran from Tanzania, but the pricing page’s code showed the same amounts to a US network.
What shows on my bank statement?
The checkout says the charge shows as “Nectar Vixen AI,” as I saw on 10/16/2026. That is the company’s billing name, not the site’s address. I didn’t pay for a plan, so the statement line itself was not verified (requires a paid plan), as of 10/16/2026.
How do I delete my Nectar AI account?
Open your profile, then Settings, and use “Delete Account” under “Account Deletion.” In my test account on 10/16/2026, Nectar AI then asked whether I was “absolutely sure” and warned that the deletion is irreversible. I pressed Cancel there, so I didn’t see what happens after confirming.
