Who is responsible
This policy covers Late Night Ledger and every page at its address. Responsible for it is the publisher of Late Night Ledger, reachable at editor@afterdarkledger.com. The editor who answers is named on the about page.
What data we collect and why
The site collects only the data in the table below. It has no user accounts, no comments, and no forms.
| Data | Source | Purpose | Legal basis | Retention | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visit statistics: page address, referring site, browser type, and country | Your browser, through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies | Count visits and see which pages are read | Running and improving the site | Aggregated by Cloudflare; we see totals, not individual visits | Cloudflare |
| Clicks on buttons to apps: which button, whether it led to the app’s site, and your country. No IP address, no cookies | Your click on a /go/ link | Check that every button works and count clicks by country | Running the site | Up to 7 days in Cloudflare’s log store; we keep only monthly totals per button and country after that | Cloudflare |
| Technical data your browser sends with every request, including your IP address | Your browser, handled by Cloudflare, which hosts the site | Deliver pages and block attacks. We don’t keep it in our own logs | Running the site securely | Under Cloudflare’s own policy | Cloudflare |
| Emails you send us: your address and what you write | You | Reply to you and fix what you report | Your request | 12 months after our last reply | The email provider that hosts our mailbox |
We don’t run a newsletter. If we start one, it will ask you to confirm your address before the first email, and this policy will list it before then.
What we don’t collect
- Your name, unless you put it in an email to us.
- Passwords or accounts. The site has no sign-up.
- Payment details. You never pay anything on this site.
- Your chats, photos, or anything else you do inside an app. We never see it.
- Your IP address in our own logs.
Cloudflare runs servers in many countries, including the United States, and may process the data above on any of them.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without them. When you click through to an app’s site, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
Buttons to apps go through addresses on this site that start with /go/ and send you on to the app’s
site. Once you’re there, the app’s Privacy Policy applies, not this one. We don’t pass your name, your email, or
any other identifier to the app.
None of these links is an affiliate link yet, so no affiliate network records your click.
What a commission is and how it’s marked is explained under how commissions work here.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don’t track you across other websites, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser has nothing to switch off here. If that ever changes, we’ll treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data.
Your rights
If you live in California, state law gives you the right to know what personal information a business collects about you. You can also have it deleted or corrected, and opt out of its sale or sharing.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and several other states give their residents similar rights. We answer these requests from any US resident, whatever the state, and we don’t treat you differently for making one.
We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. To make a request, write to editor@afterdarkledger.com. We reply within 3 business days.
Children
This site is for adults 18 or older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has sent us personal information, write to us, and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the “Updated” date at the top changes with it. If you have questions about a change, write to us through the contact page. The rules for using the site are in the terms of use.
