How we ranked these apps
The score is the same six-part scale we use for every app, set out in our methodology. For an 18+ chat, two parts matter most: chat quality and memory, and age checks and content rules. I record the age step exactly as the app asks for it and don’t try to get around it.
Apps with a score of 7.0 or more come first, in the order of their scores, and the rest follow alphabetically. Whether a company pays us a commission or nothing at all doesn’t move a single row.
1. GirlfriendGPT
GirlfriendGPT asks about age twice, at two different points. After the email code, a “Welcome Aboard” window kept its Save button inactive until I ticked “I confirm that I am 18 years old or older.”
The second ask comes at the switch. A new account starts on SFW, and the NSFW button opens a “Confirm your age” window with “Go back” and “I’m over 18.” From a US connection on 10/14/2026, nothing asked my age before sign-up.
2. Nectar AI
Nectar AI greets you with an “Adults Only” window and two buttons, “I’m over 18” and “Leave site.” After that click, my new account on 10/16/2026 had 18+ content switched on.
The switch sits under Preferences as “Allow NSFW,” and a second copy sits in the header of the character library. Sign-up took an email code, with no date of birth, card, or ID.
Its own documents disagree about younger users. The Terms say, “Users under 18 years old may only access SFW content areas and features.” The FAQ says, “Users under 18 are not permitted to use Nectar under any circumstances.”
3. Swipey AI
Swipey AI asks once, on the first visit, and then leaves 18+ content on for everyone. The window reads “Swipey Contains Adult AI Content,” with “I’m 18+ — Show Me the Magic” and “I’m under 18 — Take Me Out.”
Its settings had no switch to hide 18+ content. Its help says you confirm your age again at checkout, and that UK users go through Ondato, with a selfie, an age estimate, or a document.

Which AI chat apps allow 18+ content?
All three here allow 18+ chat, each behind its own step. Nectar AI turns it on with a switch, GirlfriendGPT asks you to confirm your age before switching, and Swipey AI has no switch at all. Janitor AI and SpicyChat also host 18+ bots, and we cover them on our alternatives pages.
Do 18+ AI chats check your age?
They ask, and they take your word. Nectar AI and Swipey AI show a one-click window, and GirlfriendGPT asks for a ticked box at sign-up. None asked me for an ID. Swipey AI’s help says UK users go through Ondato, with a selfie, an age estimate, or a document.
Are 18+ AI chats free?
The chat is free up to a limit, and 18+ media costs extra. Nectar AI’s free account answered 15 messages before a limit at message 17 on 10/16/2026, and GirlfriendGPT’s and Swipey AI’s answered 10. Pictures and video sit mostly behind paid plans, though Nectar AI’s plan data lists 10 free image generations a day.
Is an 18+ AI chat private?
Not completely. Nectar AI’s Terms say the company uses “both automated filters and human review.” Swipey AI’s Terms describe a filter and human review of flagged content, even though its chat says “Nobody will ever see it.” Read the data section of each review before you share personal details.
What shows on your bank statement?
A variant name, and it differs by app. Nectar AI’s checkout named “Nectar Vixen AI,” and GirlfriendGPT’s named “NDAI.CHAT.” Swipey AI’s payment page said “Swipey AI.” All three checkouts were opened from Tanzania, so a US checkout could differ.
