Quick answer: Whether an AI girlfriend app is safe comes down to seven things you can check, not a label. As of 10/17/2026, 4 of the 5 apps I checked let you delete your account yourself, and 4 named their statement name on a public page or at checkout. None of the three I joined asked me for an ID.
What “safe” means for an AI girlfriend app
For an AI girlfriend app, “safe” means seven things you can check. They are the real price, the free limit, the statement name, cancellation and refunds, the age check, what happens to your chats, and the content rules. We never call an app safe or unsafe. Each answer below is a fact from the app’s own pages or a test account, with a date.
If you’re new to these products, start with how AI girlfriend apps work. The same seven answers for every app we checked are in the full fine-print comparison. The scale behind our scores is in how we rank these apps.
Your money: prices, renewals and statement names
Your money is easiest to track where the plan page, the checkout, and the Terms say the same thing, and in several of these apps they didn’t. Swipey AI’s pricing page marks its monthly price “Billed monthly,” while the plan data behind it lists that price for the 12-month plan, billed up front. Its checkout from Tanzania confirmed it: $71.99 for 12 months, charged at once.
Discount labels deserve a second look at checkout. Nectar AI’s yearly checkout counted its “Save 75%” from a crossed-out $240. Its pricing page showed “Save 50%” for the same plan, at a checkout opened from Tanzania on 10/16/2026. Swipey AI’s checkout showed no tax line.
The name on your bank statement (billing descriptor) can differ from the app’s name. Nectar AI’s checkout said the charge shows as “Nectar Vixen AI,” and Secrets AI’s FAQ names “S LABS INC.” Swipey AI’s help center names “SWIPEY.AI or INVAI LTD,” while its pricing page promises a neutral merchant name.
Swipey AI’s own payment page then said “Swipey AI.” GirlfriendGPT’s checkout said the purchase appears as “NDAI.CHAT.” Lovescape promises a “neutral” statement name without saying what it is.
Your data: storage, training and deletion
One of the 5 apps says plainly that your data may train its AI: Secrets AI lists training AI models among its uses, with no opt-out. Swipey AI’s Terms license what you type “to operate, provide, secure, moderate and improve” the service.
The others don’t say so plainly. GirlfriendGPT’s and Swipey AI’s Privacy Policies don’t mention training on chats. Nectar AI’s FAQ says chats aren’t used to train external AI models, and Lovescape’s blog says content isn’t used for training without explicit consent.
Nectar AI adds that its moderation uses “both automated filters and human review,” per its Terms. In my test, its account deletion sat in Settings, under “Account Deletion.”
Deleting is easier in some apps than in others. Four of the 5 let you delete your account yourself, per their pages or my test accounts. Lovescape’s Privacy Policy describes an email request, while its site code shows a “Delete account” button in profile settings.
What stays after you leave differs too. Secrets AI says deleting your account removes your profile and chat history right away, and it keeps transaction records for 7 years. GirlfriendGPT keeps personal data for 6 years after an account is closed, and Swipey AI usually does too, per their Privacy Policies.
GirlfriendGPT’s account deletion takes up to 30 days, and you can restore the account through Discord in that time. Swipey AI’s is permanent, and the same email can’t sign up again for 48 hours.
Age gates and the rules on content
On their own pages, the 5 apps describe a click, a tick box, or a statement at sign-up. Stronger checks, such as an ID, a selfie, or an age estimate, apply only in some regions, such as the UK at Swipey AI and Lovescape.
In my test accounts, Nectar AI showed an “Adults Only” window with one button, “I’m over 18,” before anything else. Swipey AI’s first-visit window worked the same way, with “I’m 18+ — Show Me the Magic.” GirlfriendGPT asked me to tick “I confirm that I am 18 years old or older” at sign-up on 10/17/2026, and turning on 18+ content brings a “Confirm your age” window.
From a US connection on 10/14/2026, GirlfriendGPT showed no age window before sign-up. Lovescape asks for your age at sign-up, per its pages, and Secrets AI uses a self-declared 18+ button.
The content rules are in each app’s Terms. All five ban sexual content involving minors in their Terms or policies, and all five also ban explicit content showing real people, at least without their consent.
Canceling and refunds
All five apps let you cancel in your account, per their own pages.
Some apps contradict themselves. Swipey AI’s Terms say all purchases are final, while its help center reviews refund requests case by case. Secrets AI’s Terms send you to the payment processor or to email, while its wiki points to Settings.
None of the 5 promises an unconditional refund. Secrets AI refunds only billing errors reported within 30 days, and never crypto purchases.
GirlfriendGPT’s Terms say it “does not offer refunds for subscriptions that have been paid for,” except in “certain limited cases.” Lovescape publishes no subscription refund policy at all.
The fine print of 5 apps side by side
The table puts the seven answers for each of the 5 apps in one place, checked 10/14/2026 to 10/17/2026. Nectar AI, GirlfriendGPT, and Swipey AI are the three where my test accounts reached the payment page, and what we learned about Nectar AI covers that checkout step by step.

How to check an app yourself before you pay
You can run the same checks in six steps, before you enter a card. These are the steps I follow on every app.
- Compare the plan page with the checkout. Open the checkout up to the payment page, then look for the renewal price and a tax line.
- Find the statement name. Look at the bottom of the pricing page, in the checkout, and in the Terms. Swipey AI named it differently in three places.
- Read the refund clause. Search the Terms for “refund,” and note the time limit and any usage limit.
- Read the Privacy Policy for “train,” “improve,” and “retain” to see what the app does with your chats.
- Find the delete button before you need it. Nectar AI keeps it in Settings under “Account Deletion.”
- Create the account only after these checks.
The same steps work for apps outside this table. Some apps failed them badly enough to be left out, and they’re listed with a dated reason on the apps we don’t recommend.
What we checked
- Test accounts: Nectar AI (10/16/2026), GirlfriendGPT and Swipey AI (10/17/2026), free accounts with checkout up to the payment page, not paid, from a session in Tanzania.
- Terms, Privacy Policies, and where public, pricing pages and help centers of 5 apps read 10/14/2026 to 10/17/2026.
- Not checked: paid features, a US checkout total, and the cancel and delete flows to the end.
FAQ
Do AI girlfriend apps keep your chats?
Yes, while your account is open, and some keep data after you close it. Secrets AI says deleting your account removes your chat history right away. GirlfriendGPT’s Privacy Policy keeps personal data for 6 years after an account is closed, and Swipey AI’s usually does the same. Nectar AI’s Privacy Policy doesn’t say how long it keeps data.
Do AI girlfriend apps train their models on your messages?
One of the 5 apps says so plainly: Secrets AI lists model training among the uses of your data, with no opt-out. GirlfriendGPT’s and Swipey AI’s Privacy Policies don’t mention training on chats, though Swipey AI’s Terms license what you type to improve the service. Nectar AI’s FAQ says chats aren’t used to train external AI models.
What name shows on your bank statement?
Four of the 5 apps name it, and it isn’t always the app’s name: GirlfriendGPT’s checkout named “NDAI.CHAT,” and Nectar AI’s named “Nectar Vixen AI.” Secrets AI’s FAQ names “S LABS INC.” Swipey AI gives three answers, from a neutral name to “Swipey AI” on its payment page. Lovescape promises a neutral name without saying what it is.
Can you delete your data from an AI girlfriend app?
Yes, but the route differs. Four of the 5 apps let you delete your account yourself, per their own pages or my test accounts. Lovescape’s Privacy Policy describes an email request instead, though its site code also shows a “Delete account” button. GirlfriendGPT’s deletion takes up to 30 days, and Swipey AI blocks the same email for 48 hours.
Do AI girlfriend apps check your age?
Most ask you to confirm you’re 18 or older, and none of the 3 apps I signed up for asked for an ID. Nectar AI and Swipey AI each asked for one click, and GirlfriendGPT asked me to tick a box confirming I’m 18 or older. Secrets AI shows a self-declared button, and Lovescape asks you to confirm at sign-up.
Is a real person reading or answering your chats?
The apps say the replies come from AI, not from people. Secrets AI’s Terms say all chats are with AI and no live humans are involved. Swipey AI’s Terms say, “You are interacting with artificial intelligence, not with a human being.” Whether staff can read chats is a separate question: Nectar AI’s Terms say the company uses “both automated filters and human review.”
