Free AI girlfriend with no sign-up in October 2026: what 5 apps ask before you chat

Quick answer: Every chat I reached in the five AI girlfriend apps I checked sat behind an account. GirlfriendGPT describes a short test without one in its Privacy Policy, which I haven’t seen work yet. Sign-up is quick, though: Nectar AI, GirlfriendGPT, and Swipey AI asked for an email and a one-time code, with no card, on 10/16/2026 and 10/17/2026.

Can you use an AI girlfriend without signing up?

Mostly no, as far as my checks go. Between 10/14/2026 and 10/17/2026, I didn’t reach a single chat without an account.

One company says a short test without an account exists. GirlfriendGPT’s Privacy Policy says, “After a free test of a few messages, you will be asked to register so we can identify you.” I haven’t seen that test work yet, so treat it as the company’s own words.

Nectar AI is plain about it. Its pricing link opened a “Log in or sign up” window instead of the plans.

What to check before you pick one

Check four things first: whether a guest chat exists, what sign-up asks for, how the email step works, and where the free part ends.

• Guest chat. I didn’t reach one in any of the five, and the one app that describes one names no message count.
• Sign-up fields. They ranged from one email field at Nectar AI to a username, an email, and a password at Secrets AI.
• Email step. Nectar AI, GirlfriendGPT, and Swipey AI sent a one-time code instead of a confirmation link.
• The free limit. GirlfriendGPT and Swipey AI stopped at message 11, and Nectar AI at message 17.

Step 1: Open the app and see what works without an account

Without an account, you can usually pass an 18+ window and look at the character library. Nectar AI, Secrets AI, and Swipey AI each showed an 18+ window with one click to confirm. GirlfriendGPT showed none from a US connection on 10/14/2026. Lovescape has a strip at the bottom of the page instead: “By continuing to Lovescape you confirm that you are 18 or older.”

Past that window, the library is mostly a shop front. GirlfriendGPT closed its search with “Sign in to unlock search,” and its Explore page sent me to sign-in on 10/17/2026.

Step 2: What sign-up asks for

Sign-up asks for an email or a social login, and no app asked for a card or a phone number. The rest differs, from a one-time code to a password and a bot check. For what happens to that email and your chats later, see what these apps do with your data.

• GirlfriendGPT: Google, Discord, or an email with a code and no password. After the code came a “Welcome Aboard” window with a required box, “I confirm that I am 18 years old or older.”
• Nectar AI: an email, Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord, or a crypto wallet. The email route sends “a one-time code that expires in 10 minutes.”
• Lovescape: an email, Google, X, or Discord, with a code instead of a password. The code email didn’t arrive in my test on 10/17/2026.
• Swipey AI: Google, Discord, Twitter, or an email with a five-digit code, and a password only if you choose one.
• Secrets AI: a username, an email, and a password, or Google or Apple. “Create Free Account” stayed inactive until a Cloudflare “Verify you are human” box was ticked, and I don’t click through bot checks.

Watch the boxes you tick. GirlfriendGPT kept its newsletter box separate, and I left it empty. At Swipey AI, the newsletter box in Settings was already ticked when I first opened them.

Step 3: Where the free part ends

The free part ends at a message limit in most apps, and the count only starts after sign-up. GirlfriendGPT gave 10 replies, and message 11 brought “You ran out of messages” on 10/17/2026. Nectar AI gave 15, and message 17 brought “Message Limit Reached” on 10/16/2026. Swipey AI gave 20 free Hearts at 2 per message, so message 11 brought a plan window on 10/17/2026.

Secrets AI’s wiki lists 20 messages a day on its free plan, and Lovescape doesn’t publish a free limit.
