Quick answer: On 10/16/2026, none of the five AI girlfriend companies I checked had its own app in the US App Store or Google Play. The app is the website: all five sites I opened on a phone-sized screen fit it, and all five declare a web app for a home-screen icon. Store apps with similar names come from other developers.
Is there an AI girlfriend app in the App Store or Google Play?
No, not from the companies behind the apps on this site. On 10/16/2026, I searched the US App Store by brand and by company name, and Google Play by brand, for the five companies on this site. None of them had an app under its own brand in either store. For the scores of the web versions, see AI girlfriend apps, ranked side by side.
What the stores do show is easy to mistake for the real thing. The App Store listed unrelated apps with names close to Secrets AI and Nectar AI. On Google Play, a “Swipey” app came from a different developer, and an app named like Secrets AI belonged to another company.
One company does have a store app under another name. GirlfriendGPT’s company has a different chat product on Google Play. That app isn’t the product we reviewed.
Why most 18+ companion apps run in the browser
The companies don’t give a reason on their sites, but both stores’ content rules exclude sexual material. Apple’s App Review Guidelines list “overtly sexual” material among the content Apple rejects. Google Play’s policy says it doesn’t allow apps with “any content or services intended to be sexually gratifying.”
The apps on this site sell 18+ chat and images, so they run on the web instead. GirlfriendGPT’s download page tells readers to skip the iOS App Store and the Android Play Store and to download from its website.
What to check before you install anything
Check that you’re on the company’s own website, and don’t install files from anywhere else. A store app with a similar name is a different product from a different developer. The data side of these apps, from chat storage to deletion, is covered in our safety and privacy check.
- The domain. Type the address yourself, or open it from our review, instead of searching the store.
- The developer name. In both stores, none of the look-alike apps I found came from the companies behind these sites.
- APK files. Only GirlfriendGPT offered its own APK, from its own download page. We don’t link to APK mirror sites.
Step 1: Open the site in your phone’s browser
Open the company’s website in Safari or Chrome on your phone. On 10/16/2026, I opened five of these sites on an iPhone-sized screen, 390 pixels wide. Every one fit the screen, with no sideways scrolling. I checked without an account, from a South African connection, so a US visitor may see a different first window.
Some sites ask your age before anything else. On the phone, Secrets AI opened an “Age Verification” window with a yes or no choice. The first window can also change by device or connection. Swipey AI showed no age window on the phone from South Africa, but it did on a computer from Tanzania the next day.
Step 2: Add it to your home screen
You can add these sites to your home screen from the browser menu, because all five declare a web app. I didn’t add any of them to a home screen in this check, so the step rests on what the sites declare.
GirlfriendGPT goes further. Its download page says an “Install App” button in the sidebar sets up the web app, and that Android users can also download an APK.
Step 3: Sign up and check the free limit
Sign up in the browser, then count the free messages before you pay. GirlfriendGPT’s sign-up form asked only for an email address on 10/14/2026, then sent a code to it.
In Nectar AI’s free account, the character answered 15 messages, and message 17 brought a message limit. GirlfriendGPT’s free account answered 10 messages on 10/17/2026, and message 11 brought a “You ran out of messages” window. Swipey AI’s free Hearts covered 10 messages too.
Apps compared on a phone
The table shows what each site offered on an iPhone-sized screen on 10/16/2026. None of the five had its own app in the US App Store or Google Play that day, and all five fit the screen.
| App | Own store app | Fits a phone screen | Web app for the home screen | On opening |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GirlfriendGPT | No | Yes | Yes | Own download page with a web app and an Android APK |
| Swipey AI | No | Yes | Yes | No age window on opening |
| Nectar AI | No | Yes | Yes | No age window on opening |
| Secrets AI | No | Yes | Yes | “Age Verification” window with a yes or no choice |
| Lovescape | No | Yes | Yes | No age window on opening |
If you’d rather use something else
If you want the most detail on one app before you open it on your phone, start with the Nectar AI review. Its site declared a web app and fit the phone screen on 10/16/2026.
Swipey AI’s site also declared a web app and, on the phone, opened with no age window. What its free sign-up includes is in Swipey AI’s free plan.
How these apps compare on the fine print
The table adds the payment and data answers for three of these apps.
| App | Score | Free plan | Checkout price | Cancel in account | Statement name | Age check | Last checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GirlfriendGPT | 8.5 | yes | $15/mo or $144/yr, checkout $15 with no tax (Tanzania, 10/17/2026) | yes | NDAI.CHAT | An 18+ checkbox at sign-up | 10/17/2026 |
| Nectar AI | 7.2 | yes | Premium $9.99/mo or $59.99/yr (Tanzania session, 10/16/2026) | yes | Nectar Vixen AI | A click on an 18+ button | 10/16/2026 |
| Swipey AI | 7.1 | yes | $14.99/mo or $71.99/yr, no tax line (Tanzania, 10/17/2026) | yes | Swipey AI (payment page), SWIPEY.AI or INVAI LTD (help center) | A click on an 18+ button | 10/17/2026 |
Prices checked 10/16/2026 to 10/17/2026 on each app’s site. Plus tax where applicable.

- Not checked: adding a site to a home screen, installing an APK, and what a US visitor sees on opening.
FAQ
Is there an AI girlfriend app for iPhone?
Not from the companies I checked. On 10/16/2026, a search of the US App Store found no app from any of the five AI girlfriend companies on this site. It did find unrelated apps with names close to Secrets AI and Nectar AI. On an iPhone, you open the company’s website in Safari instead.
Is there an AI girlfriend app on Google Play?
Not under the names of the apps I checked, as of 10/16/2026. GirlfriendGPT’s company has a different product on Google Play, and a “Swipey” app there comes from a different developer. Neither is the app reviewed here. GirlfriendGPT offers its own Android APK and web app on its download page instead.
Is it safe to install an AI girlfriend APK?
An APK installs outside Google Play, so the store’s checks don’t apply to it, and we don’t link to APK mirror sites. GirlfriendGPT is the one company I checked that offers its own APK, from its own download page. Its web app does the same job from the browser, without installing a file.
Do AI girlfriend apps work in a phone browser?
Yes, all five sites I opened on an iPhone-sized screen on 10/16/2026 fit the screen without sideways scrolling. All five also declare a web app, the file a phone browser uses to add a home-screen icon. I checked without an account, from a South African connection, so a US visitor may see a different first window.
Are AI girlfriend apps free?
Most have a free tier, and the size varies. Nectar AI’s free account answered 15 messages on 10/16/2026, while GirlfriendGPT’s and Swipey AI’s answered 10 on 10/17/2026. I counted these limits on a computer, not on a phone. Our free AI girlfriend page compares the free tiers app by app.
